This is one of my favorite projects to do and probably the most difficult project that 7th Graders do in art. We first started with a week of learning how to draw the face, then we talked about the artist Chuck Close and how to use a grid. We then took the students picture and placed a grid on their paper, and their photograph. The students then went square by square and drew their face in. After that was done they then went in and colored the whole page. This was done on 18x24 size paper so this project took most of the semester so far, but I think it was worth it. Here are a few examples and I may be posting more.

The whole school made Skull Drawings for Day of the Dead (Nov. 2nd) I can not explain how excited students got when they found out they were drawing Skulls in the art room. This is an assortment of 1st-5th Grade work. 6th Grade is working on the skulls with Scratch Board, they will be posted at a later date
